About GRRRO
By breeding and raising our Arapaimas indoors, we prevent them from getting sick from external factors. This allows us to work completely without antibiotics, which results in a much healthier and tastier filet for our customers.
Our aquaculture facilities are super economical when it comes to energy use, water use and residual water discharge. Through clever use of the latest techniques, we can use rainwater and water from a spring for the fish and recycle heat from industry in the area. We get energy simply from the sun and store it in our own batteries. This way we hardly burden the electricity grid and can therefore produce very responsibly.
Feeding the world, while making it a better place
At GRRRO, we believe that we should be sparing to the world, but we should also all be able to eat delicious and healthy food. By connecting these two aspects, we have developed aquaculture facilities that not only allow us to produce the “greenest” fish filets, but also operate in a very environmentally conscious manner.
Our Approach
Animal welfare is a very high priority at GRRRO. We believe that you should always treat animals with respect, even if they are used for food. Our name contains 3x the letter R, which in Dutch stands for: Rest (Rust), Cleanliness (Reinheid) and Regularity (Regelmaat). By giving our animals the best care and nutrition, they feel optimal and you can see that reflected in the fillets!
